Island Park. West Yellowstone. A few hundred miles of backcountry across three states.
Six sleds. One crew. The trip we build our whole year around.
We base out of a huge cabin in Island Park, Idaho, and the trails start at the front door. You wake up, eat, gear up, and ride straight off the driveway. No trailers, no parking lots, no waiting on anybody.
Nobody gets dropped out here. The trip is led. Every morning we pull up the map over coffee, take ideas from the crew, and pick where we are going that day and what we want to see. Then we ride it as one group. We stick together, we regroup at the tops, and we count heads before we drop.
The plan is a starting point, not a script. Half the day turns into "what is over there" and we go find out. Sometimes we get turned around. Sometimes somebody buries a sled and we all dig. That is the fun of it, and it is why the good stories never come from the parts that went smooth.
From there the country opens up. Hundreds of miles of it across Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, all in the same week. Meadows you can pin across, timber you have to pick your way through, and open bowls above the trees where the only tracks are the ones your crew just made. Peaks that look fake. Snow up to your chest. Nobody around for miles. Just you, your machine, and the guys you came with.
West Yellowstone is our town. We roll in for dinner, gas up, mess around, and see the park side of things when we want a day off the deep stuff. Back at the cabin it is easy. Pool table and ping pong going, hot tub after a cold day, fire pit outside, and everybody retelling the same wreck four different ways until somebody calls it a night.
Then you get up and do it again. That is the whole trip. Ride hard, laugh until it hurts, sleep like a rock.

Adventure. Grit. Risk. Team. Exploration. These are the backbone qualities of this insane journey. Take one away and it is not the same.
The mountains do not care about your plans. They demand humility, preparation, and respect.
This is not some thrill-seeking trip to kill time and spend time away from our families. It is a test. A journey within.
Out there every move counts. Every moment matters. One mistake can have serious consequences. The mountains teach presence and purpose, forcing you to move with intention and respect their power.
It is more than an escape. It is a form of hard meditation. A challenge. A reminder of how small we are in the vastness of the wild. Living with it, not against it. Every gust of wind, every shift in the snow, and every hidden tree reminds you that nature commands respect.
These machines are keys to a raw and untamed world most people will never experience. Every moment brings you closer to the wild and closer to yourself.
The reward is the challenge, the growth, and the unshakable connection to nature and to your comrades. Life stripped to its rawest form. Every year, this trip leaves you humbled.
This is not for everyone. But if you know, you know.

Six guys are locked in for Feb 2027. We can take up to 12, so there is still room. The sooner you say yes, the easier the sled and truck count is to sort out.

Morning group ride to Newark, transport arranged. 7:40 AM wheels up, United nonstop EWR to BZN. Land Bozeman 10:43 AM. Pick up the Suburban from Enterprise. Drive to the house in Island Park and settle in. Sleds get dropped that night so we roll first thing.
All day in the backcountry.
All day.
All day.
Final full day. Leave nothing in the tank.
Pack up and return the Suburban by noon. 2:05 PM wheels up from Bozeman. Back in Newark 8:19 PM.
I book it all up front and you pay me your share. One number, one payment, no group chat math.
Flights are the only thing you book yourself, and they are the only cost not included in your per person number. If you are on the group flight I already have your times. Only send me your itinerary if you book something different.
United, nonstop both ways. Out Feb 22 at 7:40 AM, back Feb 27 at 2:05 PM. Book your own and match the group.
I'm arranging our ride to the airport on the 22nd, both ways.
Book the flightRented from Enterprise at Bozeman airport, picked up the morning we land and back by noon on the 27th. Room for the crew and the gear.

Dropped at the house the night we arrive so we roll first thing Tuesday.
Service is thin once you leave the house. Plan on being unreachable during ride days.

This is not a cramped cabin where somebody ends up on the floor. Three levels, eight bedrooms, six baths, sleeps 22. Everybody gets a real bed. Twelve minutes from Yellowstone, trails run right out the door, and the grocery store, fuel and food are all a couple minutes away.
The sleds get parked in the snow right outside the door. You gear up in the driveway, hit the throttle and you are on the trail system in under a minute. No trailering, no staging lot, no waiting on anybody. Ride back at lunch for food, swap layers, warm up, then head straight back out. When the day is done you pull up to the deck, drop your gear inside and get in the hot tub while the sleds cool off ten feet away.
Booked by the host. You do not need to reserve anything here.
Parking for the whole group plus the sleds, ATVs, even a boat. Trailers are not a problem here.
Sits on the Island Park stretch of Highway 20, about 25 minutes north of Ashton and 12 minutes from the West Yellowstone entrance. Bozeman airport to the front door is roughly two hours.
Straight math. The more guys we bring, the less it costs each. High value, split smart.
One Suburban covers six guys. Past six we add another truck.
Every send has a story. The stuck sleds, the close calls, the stuff you had to be there for. This is the record.

We have run this same trip for years and it never gets old. But there is a whole world of snow out there. British Columbia. Places that deserve a shot. This spot has given us everything, and it might be time to chase new ground soon.
So if you are on the list, do not take it for granted. This could be the last time we send it in Island Park for a while.
If you are reading this, you are already on the list. Text me and I will lock your spot.
